Dance World Cup 2010 Coppa del Mondo di Danza, Sardegna

Many happy dancing children spent one week in Northern Sardinia to compete in the Dance World Cup 2010. All together there were

• more than 1000 dance students coming from

• 90 different schools

• 17 countries

• 5 continents, and they performed

• 368 different dances

The organisers, Mavi Careddu and her team arranged a beautiful Opening Ceremony down town Olbia at a square near the seaside. The participants of the countries marched or danced in with their national anthems, several speeches followed, and then John Grimshaw officially declared the Dance World Cup competition open.

On all competition days Marit Bech announced the dances in a lovely way which supported the young candidates.

The judges were

• Susanna Beltrami, Italy

The dance with the highest points of all dances “Fix You” achieved 98,33 points in the category JSM and was performed by Naomi Morgan from Morgan Theatre Arts, team United Kingdom.

The beautiful Mediterranean island Sardinia will be hosting the dancing youth of the world for 2010 Dance World Cup. Two of the most beautiful theatres in the North of Sardinia were selected as venues.

Porto Rotondo is not far away from Olbia which has an international airport and harbour and also many low budget hotels. Travel distance from Porto Rotondo to Porto Cervo is about 30 minutes. There will be regular buses going from one venue to the other.

Attention:
In Open Class only those country may enter dancers which do not need visa. Countries which need visa in order to travel to Sardinia may only enter children and junior dance students up to the age of 17 years.

• S - Solo

• D - Duet / Trio

• G – Group dance

To this international dance competition only those dances are admitted that qualified through an official national qualifying dance competition in their home country. Here is a list of the countries with national qualifying competitions.
